Landscape-level assessment of ecological and socioeconomic functions

I am a researcher in the Ecosystem Modelling department at the University of Göttingen in Germany. I am applying simulation modelling and empirical approaches to assist restoration of degraded ecosystems people rely on for their well-being.
In collaboration with colleagues from the University of Goettingen, I had the privilege of leading a two-day workshop at the esteemed IPB University in Bogor, Indonesia. Our primary objective was to impart a practical introduction to the realm of ecosystem modeling, with a keen emphasis on agent-based modeling.

My inaugural experience at the European Conference on Ecological Modeling took place in the vivid city of Leipzig. The conference had the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a family gathering, where I had the pleasure of reconnecting with ecological modelers from various research groups across Germany and beyond.
